Officers from the North Castle Police Department were dispatched to a home on Old Orchard Street in West Harrison shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28, when a resident reported that a snake was in their upstairs hallway.
According to police, officers responded to the scene and were able to contain the snake, which was later determined to be a Coppherhead.
According to livescience.com, Copperhead snakes “are among the most likely to bite, although their venom is relatively mild.”
After being corralled by the officers, a wildlife trapper was able to safely remove the snake from the home. No injuries were reported.
